Last Month the Japanese try to retrive this mod a little bit more. They played in the at 2pm CET. At the moment the gametracker, com Server Monitorring is off. Hope soon they turn it on. The ranking seems to work.

Alright, so i'm looking at going to dual monitors, my current monitor is 22" 1680x1050, i'd like to have the new one the same size and as far as res goes, that's where i'm stuck. My first pick would be http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824112009 , 170 bucks, decent contrast, and 1680x1050 res (same as my current)
On the other hand i'm thinking it would be nice to have the second one running 1920x1080, but my main concern with this would be game performance, i mean sure i could just keep using my current monitor for gaming, but then what would the point be of the res upgrade? My choice for 1920x1080 at 22" would be http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236051 , it has a lower contrast ratio too.
But as i said, my main concern is game performance. My current rig handles all game very well (except for crysis on full... i run that at the second best settings) at my native res of 1680x1050 with all setting cranked up and usually full 16x AA as well.
Rig: 8800GTX OC1 (made by bfg, comes "overclocked" from the factory) E6600 2.4gHz dual core intel processor 4GB DDR2 800mHz ram, 5-5-5-12 timing Creative x-fi fatal1ty soundcard
How big do you guys think the performance drop would be that would come with the upgraded res and would it really be worth the extra 30 bucks?

I never realized how much a change in resolution would affect performance, but yea i guess it does. I dont think you are forced to run anything in a specific resolution, if it doesent work so well, just drop the res to the next lowest until it feels and looks good.

Running two monitors at once may barely hinder the performance of the game, definitely jacking up the resolution that the game will run at will increase a framedrop. Although you shouldn't worry too much with your 8800GTX, because it contains at least 768mb of ram on it and should handle high resolution gaming.

Thanks for the link shrooms, that's EXACTLY what i was looking for, jsut couldn't find it lol. And ala i'm already on ultimate 64 bit for that reason. Also i'm actually amazed at how little of a framerate drop there was between the 1680x1050 and 1920x1200 (the asus is 1920x1080 so the impact should be even less, great news)
yeah, i would go for the asus out of those. i haven't heard very good things about sceptre. hell, just look at the reviews for that monitor.
your GTX should be able to handle most games pretty well at that res. some newer ones might give it trouble, but you can always turn the settings down a little.

you should know that even if you have 2 screens you probably will still just game on one of them, means that there wont be any big performance impact, performance impacts happen if you play on a larger resolution, so having 2 screens aside of eachother, gaming on one, wont affect performance much if even noticable.
(unless you, for some wierd reason, feel like gaming with 2 screens which is mostly pointless and irritating )

Yeah teabag, i realize that but I was thinking more about tasks for which there never seems to be enough room on the screen.. and also for doing other things while gaming.

Whoo, so the payment is finally going ot come through tommorow, and jsut a last minute check but i should be fine with my 8800GTX running dual montiors if one is 1680x1050 and the other is 1920x1080 right?
