I dont know ANYONE who has gotten the rrod, and I know alot of people with 360s, who have the original launch versions, not the ones with the falcon and jasper chips so just because the test groups had a high failure rate(Which btw was 32%,not 40) there isnt a large chance yours will fail, just dont leave it on constantly and try to keep it cool.
My friends say they dont do anything special to keep it cool and didnt even know about the high failure rates, but I wouldnt go playing 24/7 in your car during the summer.

that's just it, if u can't leave it on for 1-2 hours minimum then ur not gonna be satisfied. in the near future, 10-layer 250gb blu-ray discs will be released. the pic below shows a comparison
some of u may think that 360 has better lighting, but if u turn on "super-white" mode in ps3's display settings menu, u can enable the same bloom effect lighting of the 360. some of u may think that 360 has darker contrast and higher-def colour. in ps3's menu, if u go into the rgb range menu, and turn it from limited to full, the same contrast and colour effects of the 360 can be achieved. in some ps3 games, the brightness is very high, while the 360 is normal. this is a result of high gamma settings in the ps3 port. there may be options in the ps3 menu or the game menu for lowwering gamma if this is an issue. if u think that the textures r blurrier on the ps3, they're not. it's just a result of crappy porting from 360 to ps3, which is why devs r moving to ps3's developing engine

My 360 has been left on for 24 hours in a rather warm room and it has done nothing to it, if it wants to die it will die. If it doesn't then it won't... xD
And please stop with the annoying fanboyness, it's so childish.
Each console has it's ups and downs and really it's mostly down to what console has the more games you want now of days. If all you care about is amazing graphics then stay with the PC lol.
And what are you on about developers moving, from what I can see developers have learned that if they want the games to look and run the best on each console they create basically a master copy of the game then 2 teams get it working on both consoles, nothing about moving over, there expanding...
Devs are not moving to PS3, devs have actually moved AWAY from PS3 more often than none, because it is extremely hard to develop games specifically for it.

Mind giving me a source for that? A google-tour actually shows me the opposite. Devs are saying its hard to get started with the PS3 development, but once its mastered its very easy. They compare it to PC development. Show me a source or go away

Yes,my cousin who worked on the ps3 dev team said that even the ps3 dev team said most companies would opt for the 360, since its just running directx so you could make a game for it, then the next year release it for pc and make more money, where as the ps3 is as you already know extremely complex.

that's old news. ea, konami, and a couple others devs r makin the games for ps3 first then make em multi-platform. mirrors edge was made for ps3 first then made multi-platform because sony has recently made developing games for ps3 alot easier. mirrors edge for ps3 has alot more features and probably had an earlier release date than the 360 version. 360 uses a warm colour tone while ps3 uses a cool colour tone, which i find produces better graphics

4-5 hours is probably the minimum to be careful.
i think some may consider that a bit too low, u can leave a ps3 on forever and it'll nvr burn out. i left my old launch ps2 on for many days and it didn't burn out
