Last Month the Japanese try to retrive this mod a little bit more. They played in the at 2pm CET. At the moment the gametracker, com Server Monitorring is off. Hope soon they turn it on. The ranking seems to work.

BF42 isn't just the best engine. That claim may be debated, I personally know nothing about it. BF42 has other advantages: - It's cheap, so getting into is no problem at all. - It's old, which means that the engine is very well researched and people are comfortable working with it. - It doesn't require a high-end computer like Crysis or BF2 do. Sure, many have such computers, but many more people don't. Especially the recent trend towards cheap laptop favors old engines. Also, lower system requirements means it works better with "convenience" applications such as iTunes, Messengers, etc., which can be a huge plus for some. - It's also for Mac, no idea how many people care about that but for me it's the reason why I'll always prefer IS82 over any new mod for an engine that doesn't exist on Macs. Sorry to everyone who's working on IS for BF2 or Crysis or Minesweeper, I'll always prefer the one mod that does not require me to reboot my laptop into Windows. - It's old again (frankly, most of the reasons why it rocks are "it's old"), which means that you can get away with outdated graphics. Worse graphics are easier to make, so it's better for modders because they don't need an art department that's as huge. - It's the first and possibly the most successful game of the BF franchise, in part because it had enough time to amass a huge fan base. BFV staid current for about three days and many hated it, and BF2 was replaced with 22123442 or whatever it's called rather quickly and had, at the time that it came out, unreasonable system requirements. I know many people who hated BF2 because it required Pixel Shader 2.0, while they "only" had a high-end Pixel Shader 1.4 card like a Geforce 4 TI TwinSpark something. - There are already all the mods as a baseline to do your crazy work in. What mod should Spitfire use on Crysis? There is none, and not everybody wishes to make/help make a new one when all one wants to do is make a cool map.
Any mod that's on a different engine will have to work really hard to make up for these points, and sometimes it can't. I can predict right now that Crysis-based mods will have lots of trouble, because Crysis's system requirements basically call for one of the three main computer cores of a Galaxy-class star ship, which means less players, at least at the beginning.
