Last Month the Japanese try to retrive this mod a little bit more. They played in the at 2pm CET. At the moment the gametracker, com Server Monitorring is off. Hope soon they turn it on. The ranking seems to work.
- Create a folder ( In this example C:\MYED42\ but can be anything )
- Run RFA Extraction program ( RFA Extractor or RFA Rat )
- Extract \Battlefield 1942\Mods\bf1942\Archives\Texture.rfa to C:\MYED42\ - Extract \Battlefield 1942\Mods\bf1942\Archives\Objects.rfa to C:\MYED42\ - Extract \Battlefield 1942\Mods\bf1942\Archives\standardMesh.rfa to C:\MYED42\
- Extract Patches like \Battlefield 1942\Mods\bf1942\Archives\Texture_001.rfa to C:\MYED42\ - Extract Patches like \Battlefield 1942\Mods\bf1942\Archives\standardMesh_001.rfa to C:\MYED42\
- Extract \Battlefield 1942\Mods\interstate\Archives\Texture.rfa to C:\MYED42\ - Extract \Battlefield 1942\Mods\interstate\Archives\Objects.rfa to C:\MYED42\ - Extract \Battlefield 1942\Mods\interstate\Archives\standardMesh.rfa to C:\MYED42\
- Extract YOURMAP.RFA to C:\MYED42\
- Extract editor42.7z to C:\MYED42\
So within C:\MYED42 should be the folders: texture, objects, standardmesh, bf1942, and editor42
- Run C:\MYED42\editor42\editor42.exe
- Change !prompt to C:\MYED42\
( dont miss off the end backslash )
- Press OK, then File, Open, YOURMAP

When first trying ED42 you should know that FreeCam is turned on and off with the SpaceBar.

i made a folder called bfdev (presston told me to) i want to start my map in ED42, how do i put my map in ED42 when i havn't created it :S urgent help needed!
gut, i made a folder called ED42 in C:. so its C:\ED42\, put all the extracted stuff there. then made a folder in there called editor42, and extracted the ed42.zip stuff into that folder. read what rich siad to do everything else.
and about making a map...rom what i gather most people use BC to create a map, then extract it and use ED42 for everything else.
gut the bfdev folder is just an example i told you to make, the folder can be named anything as long as when in ed42 make sure the directories are set up to read from the folder 'bfdev' or whatever you called it.
A folder means a folder, it can be called anything, I used ED42 in this example as I think it makes more sense than BFDEV that is used in the official readme.
If you want to create a new map from scratch then I recommend you do so from Battlecraft, and then extract the empty map into the folder.

ok so make a folder called ED42 then make another one inside that folder called Editor42, then extract with winrfa the ED42 download into the Editor42 file, then just extract all the things that Rich has listed above and then extract the map that i have started in BC!
no, read over what rich said slowly, only make one folder and using winrfa extract texture.rfa , standardmesh.rfa and object.rfa into the folder. These rfa files are found in c/programfiles/eagames/bf1942/mods/interstate/archives. Then i suggest starting a map in battlecraft. save it. then use winrfa to find this new made map and extract it into the folder. then load ed42/. Go to files/directories. for the Base promp directory copy the file path to the folder you made that has all the extracted files in. for example C/programfiles/ED42 or wherever you put the folder. Then ed42 will work as wanted and will have all the interstate objects available to choose from.
