 Sounds more like ad-ware, not exactly a virus, but can consume your bandwith. Try to do a scan with Lavasoft Ad-Aware, or maybe Spybot Search and Destroy. To be sure you get all the crap out, do a scan in safemode, and deactivate system restore.
