Yea okay just about everyone downloaded the demo and its great. But im here to talk about how rediculous the system specs are... Okay first of all there are cards listed in the readme file of the cards BF2 supports and has all the shaders and shit to play the game.(as listed here)- Video Cards Battlefield 2 only supports the following video cards:
Radeon X700 (PCIe) Radeon X600 (PCIe) GeForce 6600 (PCIe) GeForce PCX 5900 (PCIe) GeForce 5800 Series (AGP) ATI Radeon X800 XT Platinum Edition ATI Radeon X800 PRO ATI Radeon 9800 Series ATI Radeon 9600 Series ATI Radeon 9550 (RV350LX) ATI Radeon 9500 / 9700 Series ATI Radeon 8500 Series ATI Radeon X300 Series NVidia GeForce 6800 Ultra NVidia GeForce 6800 GT NVidia GeForce 6800 NVidia GeForce FX 5950 Series NVidia GeForce FX 5900 Series NVidia GeForce FX 5700 Series
Okay i find this a bit overwhelming because all of these cards listed are just about 200$+. Not really what people can really afford. RAM is also a factor "512mb of ram is the minimum"..... That is just flat out ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE RECOMMENDED IS 1 GIG..... I don't think this game is going to be a hit just because of the reqiurments to play it. You have really got to have a good PC to play this game smoothly. Just think for the gamers that have light pc's. A new graphics card 200+$ Power supply to run the graphics card 19.95$. And RAM which can be quite expensive. IM suggesting if you want to play this game go to eBay and get ur crap there!!!! BF2 is going to change gaming forever because other game developers are going to want to step it up and get past the level of BF2. Ive talked with alot of people and they have told me. "There is no way i will buy the game just because of the reqiurments to play it." I do think they have went alittle overboard with the specs. DO others think that also?? Talk about the gameplay here also and what you think.
I need you guys to give me some advice. currently the bf2 demo runs but has bad fps problems which make it no fun. I have 512mb ram ATI Intergrated Radeon 9100
would it be better for me to upgrade my ram or my graphics card to improve the fps problem. Also can you recomend a good priced product if possible. thanks
Well to be honist with you i would get a gig of ram and also a FX5700 or fx5900 i have the 5900 and it runs tremendously well. Its just i only have 512 mb of ram so it laggs. Get another 512 stickand a better graphics card that is supported. www.ebay.com NOTE : presston do you 2 sticks of 256 to make 512? Or is it just 1 stick of 512? [ Edited 16 Jun : 22:38 ]
Guys the 5200fx series are only entry level graphics cards and I would only expect them to run bf 2 on low graphics. Thats why they only cost £30 - £60 to buy. If u want a decent not too expensive graphics card i would sugest a ati 9800pro as Nvidia cards are not as good anyway. you Could probably pick one of those yp for about £90 not sure how many dollers that is. As for the specs overall I dont see anything unreasonable about them. 1 gig of RAM is about standard for a gaming pc nowadays.
Presston how much are u prepared to spent, I think getting a graphics card would be the most important thing being that your current one is intergrated [ Edited 16 Jun : 22:44 ]
