Last Month the Japanese try to retrive this mod a little bit more. They played in the at 2pm CET. At the moment the gametracker, com Server Monitorring is off. Hope soon they turn it on. The ranking seems to work.
The time has come for some serious evaluation as to where interstate is going. Its become clear that is04 may never happen.
It takes a lot of time, determination, and people with experience to make a mod, so this is purely 'theoretical' stuff, there is a good chance that it will never happen.
The choice of platforms comes really comes down to Half-Life 2 and Battlefield 2, and with the later being a couple of months away it allows some time to check out the hl2 engine.
But this is not why im posting, if it was to happen I would not want it to be just a clone, the racing is good but it needs something to provide a change. CTF suffers to badly from needing lots of players.
So I want your ideas for an interstate / disco era themed game ( cars are optional ) that has the fast paced action that you get from games such as counter-strike, while also being fun with just 2 or 4 people.

its quite easy, its a matter of dedication, and for the matter of the disco / fast paced action, just make invisible restrictions within the map, if anyone of you have seen HaloX's "winter city" map it is quite much as you describe it, i think hl2 has a good engine for close combat simulations but would prefer BF2 really.. It has alot more space to build on and is good if you do decide to make a bigger kind of map, if making a big map in HL2 the space and loading time would be lunatic.

hm... well being only 12 theres no way im getting hl2 (ive palyed the demo and its sooooooo gory) but like rich said bf2 is still a ways off anf you never know they might delay it.
omg lol that's the most rediculous reason not to get hl2 (Because its to gory)??? LOL!....... Yea rich i like the ideas i think it should be on hl 2 the engine is so flexable! Then again battlefield 2 would be a good choice to carry on the battlefield name The demolition derby is somthing i would look forward to. If one of the mappers could build an arena for the demo
i say BF2 because if its like they say it is u can destroy the terrain, you could create a city with cars n stuff and put giant dozers at the outskirts and make a race into the middle... with no respect to the house... or you could do so the opposition was supposed to destroy a house in the middle of the town and the coalition supposed to protect that house with like loads of C4 n' mines in a house and when the opposition comes they 'r history and offcourse the "Bank robbery" principe! [ Edited 22 Apr : 20:33 ]

I think it all should be "put on hold" until we actually see for ourselves what the BF2 engine can do. No doubt this game will rock on whatever the engine will be.
