skins does have a point there, you can't spit on a king and expext him to offer you beer. the strat skins do look pretty slapped-on. =/ if you do decide to use logos from the internet, take the time to crop, shade, and position them well. take my air-canada and fedex skins for example. on the cessna, i had to remove all the pinstriping until it was just white, which was pretty hard since the white base was multishaded. the slogan i had to do custom, had to crop the logo on the side, the tail was tough because i couldn't replicate the tail detail after painting it all blue and then had to turn the blue "fed" part white then crop the logo again, copy it, paste, then fine-tune position it. to replicate the tail detail, i had to graft a chunk from the original tail skin, put it right over with extensive transparency. since the white detail chunk faded the color on the tail, i had to max the saturation of the blue and make it darker. note that i had to do this twice, one for each side of the plane. then i had to start one side tail all over again because the logo ran off. for the air-canada skin, the only actual internet parts i used were the "air", the "canada", the air-canada logo and the tail leaf. the rest was freehanded. both skins were done with a "sketch" technique. having an actual picture of the plane in the web browser as i worked. kindkill really helped by showing me where each piece of the cessna skin went. though SOME skins look like they were done fast, countless hours of work were probably done on them. especially cleaner ones
